Coaches | Name: Jimmy Lopez Position: Head Coach Years Experience: 10 as a coach, 13 as a wrestler Bio: Coach Lopez is a veteran coach that has been the Head Coach of the North Valley Misfits and the Pinnacle High School wrestling team for the past 4 years. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach for other valley schools. Coach Lopez wrestled for Arizona State University from 1995-1999. He was a 2 time National Qualifier and an All-American in 1999. He was an Olympic Alternate in 2001 for El Salvadore. |
| Name: Rob Clary Position: Assistant Coach, USAW Bronze Certified Years Experience: 7 as a coach, 9 as a wrestler Bio: Coach Clary brings not only his years of experience as a wrestler and a coach, but also as a certified high school official. After wrestling 4 years in High School, Coach Clary went on to the University of New Mexico where he continued to wrestle for 2 years on the wrestling team and 3 years in the LOBO Wrestling Club. He has been the Head Coach at the Club Level, Middle School Level and High School Level. He has a deep passion for the sport of wrestling. He has degrees in Exercise and Sports Management from Adams State College and in Athletic Training from the University of New Mexico. |
| Name: Riley Woods Position: Assistant Coach Noteworthy Achievements: Riley is a 2 time National Qualifier. He is a multiple State Placer, having placed 1st in 2008, 3rd in 2007, and 5th in 2006. He currently holds the record for most Technical wins at 55. |
North Valley Misfits participates in a cross training program with several other wrestling clubs in the Valley, including Brophy Wrestling Club, Maryvale Wrestling Club, and Deer Valley Wrestling Club.
