Freestyle Season Overview

The 2010 Freestyle season has been a great season for the North Valley Misfits. The kids division has had substantial growth and includes wrestlers from many different experience levels. It has been extremely exciting to see the growth in these young athletes as they become familiar with the sport of wrestling and the level of personal growth over the entire season. The kids divisions, which include Rookie, Bantam, Intermediate, and Novice, had several wrestlers that placed at the State Freestyle Tournament.

2010 Summer Wrestling Series

The North Valley Misifts announces the 2010 Summer Wrestling Series. This looks to be a fun event for all wrestlers in Arizona to come out and attend to get some mat time and get better. We hope to see great involvement.

North Valley Misfits Summer Wrestling

It's Here! -- NVM Summer Wrestling will be held in the Pinnacle High School Wrestling Room on Tuesdays and Thursdays from about 5-7pm. Cost is $175.00 per wrestler, checks can be made payable to: North Valley Misfits. The program runs from Tuesday, June 8th until Thursday, July 29th. The program will afford wrestlers the opportunity to participate in some smaller, local tournaments during the summer. Misfits Photo Day

Photo Day for the North Valley Misfits is Monday, March 15th, at 6pm (start of practice). TSS Photography will do individual and team photos. More information to follow/packets will be sent home with wrestlers sometime in early March.

Registration for 2010 Season

Registration for the North Valley Misfits is January 30, 2010 from 10 am to Noon in the wrestling room at Pinnacle High School. Jayce Takes 4th at RMN Monster Match Championships

A big Misfits congratulations goes out to Jayce who took 4th place in the 78 lb weight class at the RMN Monster Match Championships in Denver, CO. The RMN Monster Match tournament is one of the bigger ones held at this time of year, and has some amazing competition at it. Congrats Jayce!!

Jayce Brings Home 6th in Greco-Roman Regionals

A HUGE congratulations goes out to Misfit Jayce Clary who finished 6th in Greco at 70lb School Regionals in Portacello, ID. The Western regionals is one of the toughest in the nation to place in, and with all his hard work and practice, Jayce established himself as one of the premier wrestlers in the Western Region of USA Wrestling.

2009 Season Overview

In only our fourth season, the North Valley Misfits have grown to become a dominant club in the Arizona wrestling community. Over thirty wrestlers strong, varying in age from 5 to 25 years old, we have become a major presence at weekly tournaments. This past season has proven to be an extremely successful season with multiple wrestlers placing each week. As a whole, the club has amassed approximately 100 medals this season with several wrestlers qualifying for USAW Nationals in Fargo, North Dakota.

Practice Location and Times

Location: Pinnacle High School, east side of the gym

Dates: Spring 2010

Our typical practice schedule is Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 6-8pm. (Please note, for some practices, the team will travel to either Brophy HS or Maryvale HS; will advise as scheduling is confirmed.)

2009 State Tournament Results

The youth of the North Valley Misfits showed up to the State Tournament ready to compete. The talent level was high and the competition was tough. But through the proper training, perseverance and mental toughness that was learned in the practice room, our wrestlers were ready for the challenge. We had 4 of the 6 Misfits, which were able to attend, place at State. They were:

Jayce Clary: 1st Place Novice, 70 lbs.

Paul Calibreze: 3rd Place Schoolboy, 80 lbs.

Connor Vermeesch: 3rd Place Intermediate, 55 lbs.

Nic Pagliocco: 5th Place Bantam, 60 lbs.
